Hugh bought the schooner RYELANDS in 1942 and put his son Kenneth in command
where they traded mostly the Bristol Channel ports.

Hugh sold RYELANDS in 1948 when she became the HISPANIOLA in the RKO pictures movie
Treasure Island.  Several other film and television roles remained for RYELANDS starring as the
PEQUOD in Moby Dick and  also starred in TV "Buccaneers"
Moored firstly at Scarborough she eventually became a floating exhibit at Morecombe
when on a night in June 1970 she caught fire and burn out.
